Why should you choose Coolsculpting?
Fat cells freeze at a lower temperature than other body cells. This allows CoolSculpting to safely target these cells without damaging the surrounding skin and muscle cells. After a precisely controlled dose of cooling, the fat cells freeze and crystallise.
This disrupts their cell membrane and causes the cells to undergo a process called apoptosis (programmed cell death). Through this process, the fat cells die off and are cleared out by the body without leaving behind scar tissue. The dead cells are processed by your body and eliminated!
Lifestyle choices, genetics, or simply time and gravity can result in areas of stubborn fat. No matter the culprit, many of us have pockets of unwanted fat.
Made up of fat cells that are often resistant to diet and exercise, these stubborn areas of fat can be reduced with CoolSculpting.
CoolSculpting uses controlled suction and cooling to target and crystallise fat cells. The fat cells are literally frozen away.
Following a treatment, the crystallised fat cells are slowly and safely expelled from the body over the next few weeks and months.
After having a CoolSculpting treatment, any remaining fat cells condense, significantly reducing the fat in the treated area.
The reduction of fat cells in treated areas results in an improvement in appearance and balance of the body. You can say “goodbye” to that stubborn fat!
What are the best target areas For Coolsculpting?
The Coolsculpting process removes the excess fat from under the skin, creating a more desirable body shape.
Coolsculpting is suitable for stubborn pockets of fat unaffected by exercise and diet, including;
- Submental fat, e.g. double-chin
- Abdomen, stomach
- Upper arms
- Inner and outer thighs
- Hips, flanks, e.g. love handles
- Upper and lower back
The most popular areas are the stomach and thighs with excellent results found via the neck or arms as well. The abdomen and love handles are also ideal sections for treatment with this fat freeze machine. More significant areas like the abdomen can be handled with a larger applicator halving the time required that other procedures would take to treat the same sections.
What should I expect during treatment?
This will be explained in detail during your consultation. During one session of Coolsculpting, which will take anywhere between 30 minutes to one hour (depending on the area treated) a “vacuum” works on the targeted regions of your body. While this is taking place, you can relax by watching television or reading.
When this is all done there is no downtime, all that is required from you is the drinking of water. Normal activities can be resumed straight away.

Frequently asked questions
Which is better, Liposuction or Coolsculpting?
Liposuction is considered to be a more aggressive treatment; however, more fat to be removed in a single session. CoolSculpting removes less fat per treatment but is far less invasive. Several sessions of CoolSculpting may be required to get the desired result; however, you will experience less downtime.
How quickly will the results of Coolsculpting be evident?
It is important to note that Coolsculpting is not instant as it uses the body’s immune system to remove fat, and this process can take four to six weeks before the results are noticeable.
The benefit of this is a more natural slimming over time, lessening the fear of noticeable cosmetic surgery results for friends, family and co-workers.
What happens if new fat forms in the treated area after my procedure?
After one Coolsculpting cycle, around 20-25% of the fat cells in the treated area will disappear. Any newly formed fat will then be evenly distributed to whichever fat cells remain.
The fat cells that have been removed during this procedure will not return.
Can Coolsculpting go wrong?
Coolsculpting is considered as a safer alternative to liposuction mainly as it does not require an anaesthetic. This being said, it is still a medical procedure which means there is a small risk of side effects.
These may include mild discomfort during the treatment, or some bruising of the area, which will likely be tender to the touch afterwards for 24 to 72 hours. This is normal and to be expected. In rare cases, late-onset pain from nerve irritation can occur around the third to fifth day after the procedure.
